Seventh-grade Reading Syllabus 2007-2008 

Year-round expectations:

      Reading 30 pages every school night (or five times a week)

      Writing a  reading journal letter every two to three weeks

      Participating in class discussions

      Proofreading their own final draft writing using the minimum standards

First quarter

Grading criteria:

Homework               x 1          (worksheets, class work)
Quizzes                     x 2          (reading journals, daily participation)
Writing pieces           x 3          (final draft writing)
Special projects        x?           (Interdisciplinary units that take more than a week)
 

Social behavior in the classroom is to respect other students and the teacher in the
class
giving everyone the opportunity to learn. No child has the right to interfere
with other people's learning. Each child is responsible to set goals which he or she
needs to work
on, work on accomplishing that goal, and move on.
