You will be paid at a rate of $20.00 pr hour for a total of 64 hours per class. Academic classes consist of 48 direct teaching hours and 16 preparation hours for a teaching-to-prep ratio of 3-to-1. Academic classes require Maine State Certification and a copy of your K-12 certificate must be on file at the Adult Education office at Rockland District High School.

You will be paid for teaching hours upon correct submission of an Adult & Community Education time card. If you have to miss your class due to personal or professional needs, it is your responsibility to reschedule missed class time.
Academic students must complete 45 hours of an academic subject to receive one (1) high school diploma credit. Consequently, students are only allowed to miss one (1) class. Any additional classes that a student fails to show for classes will be dealt with according to the Adult Education Diploma Policy which all academic teachers have been asked to sign. In addition, assignment of grades, curriculum work and homework should align with the Adult Education Diploma Policy.
